“IAFCI Bringing the Industry Together”
The IAFCI South Africa - Gauteng Chapter, due to challenges faced with COVID, considered and approved the 2nd Annual Virtual Conference with the theme “Practical solutions for forensic and fraud investigations”, as the Chapter identified that there was a demand in the industry for conferences to provide delegates with training that would empower them to implement the training within their own work environments, and dedicated this to the late Adv. George Barnes.
It is for this purpose that our focus is to provide the delegates with practical presentations and/or case studies that will empower the delegates to implement the training provided at the virtual conference, while earning the approved ten (10) CPD points delegates may require to retain their accreditation at their respective associations.
We have identified speakers that are deemed experienced individuals in respect of their services provided within the industry, who includes our keynote speaker, Major General Mosipi, the Head: Serious Commercial Crime Investigation, Directorate for Priority Crime Investigation.
The practical guides and/or case study topics to be presented by our speakers are as follows:
- Importance of the role of private forensic investigators – support SA Policing Units
- How to prepare forensic report for criminal court case
- Investigative approach on cryptocurrency/money laundering investigations
- Integrated Model for confronting Corporate Corruption: Leveraging Corporate Governance
- Disregard for Human Rights during an Investigation / Ethics
- Financial misconduct - disciplinary charges and hearings – lessons learnt
- How to prepare case management plan for a forensic investigation
- Business Email Compromise investigations
- Chain of custody and securing evidence – electronic devices
- Impact of Cyber Crime Bill on investigations
CPD Points
On conclusion of the virtual conference, and once the audit has been conducted, the delegates will be issued with a certificate of attendance reflecting the approved CPD points. Points will be dependent on the time at which the delegates logged onto the link.
